Birch Belt Buckle
I've been casting birch bark since the early days in 2014 when I first moved to Asheville and started this business. I feel in love with the paper-thin texture, and how that delicate bark could transform into strong, solid metal through a process that the Egyptians used - lost wax casting. I've been hooked on casting natural elements ever since.
When I first starting toying with the idea of belt buckles, I knew a birch variety had to be in the mix. I played with a few different shapes, but nothing felt quite as classic as a simple oval. However, I'd be lying if I didn't say I also dreamt of a male version in a traditional rectangle with a masculine monogram engraved... next drop perhaps?!
