An Update From Mary Frances on Custom
Hi friends! If you've read my latest substack (it's been a while, I definitely want to get back into it!), you know that I've got some BIG changes coming up in my personal life. By the end of April, I'll likely have a new family member, and my capacity for taking on custom projects will be a bit limited. However, fear not! We have a plan.
If you've ever worked with us on custom work then you likely know (and LOVE) my studio manager, Ranna. She is a true gift in this world and keeps my head on straight. She also takes the very best care of our clients by keeping them up to date on each step along the way in their custom work while I'm typically designing in my sketchbook, putting together proposals, and making stuff at my bench. We make a pretty good team! However, there are lots of projects that come through our portal that Ranna can 100% take care of because they are so similar to old projects that she already knows what to do without consulting me. So, with that in mind, here's our plan for my maternity leave:
If you have a project that you know you want MY eyes and hands on before the Fall, please book your virtual or in person custom consultation absolutely no later than Tuesday, April 8th. Your consult will be with Ranna, but there will still be time for me to review and design for your specific project before I take leave. (BTW if ever you can't find a consultation day/time that works for you, you can always email us to see what other availability we may have!)
If you have a great idea of what you'd like to do for your custom project, and you trust Ranna to get the job done (I promise, she really is the best!), book your consult anytime that works best for you in the coming months!
Again, if you follow along on the blog/substack, you've gotten a glimpse into my previous maternity leave with my daughter four years ago. Here's the gist - I went back to work way too early (3 weeks pp) and did not feel or present my best self in that time. So, this go around, my goal is to be away as much as I can for the Summer and return back in August. Being your own boss really is a double-edged sword in this case because I am eternally grateful that I can take that much time off, but it also means that our revenue will likely decrease significantly while I'm out (even when my expenses remain the same). So, with that in mind, please continue to support MFM!! I hope yall know that I never take for granted your trust and faith in this business of mine and me as a creative, and I'm so thankful for all the ways that you show that support for us!
Much love,
Mary Frances
PS - Monthly Drops will continue!! I've planned them for my entire leave so they'll be rocking and rolling with new pieces dropping each month :)
