How to Arrange a Bud Vase

Doing flowers is an activity that always seems like it belongs to the ultra creatives of the world. And in large, anyone who has that eye is going to naturally crush it. But that doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t try (and succeed)! Here’s a little jump start in a simple but beautiful direction to help dress your tables for the happiest times of day. How to make a bouquet with a bud vase: 

Trick #1: Flower foam! Or some might call “oasis” 

This wet foam block can be used in different shapes and sizes to fit into your vases that you can stick your flower stems into to hold up in a proper and beautiful position. This has totally changed the game for us while arranging little bouquets in our scallop bud vase. And because it's able to stick straight up in the vase, all of the gorgeous little scallops are still visible!!

Trick #2: Sturdy stems! 

This definitely seems obvious. But we aren’t just thinking about what, we’re thinking about why! The sturdy stems are going to be what holds up the weight of the flowers in your bud vases, and any delicate flowers on a delicate stem tend to flop around. Sturdier stems also make it less likely for the weather to control your beautiful tablescape decor. 

Trick #3: Mixtures of blooms! 

Don’t be afraid..different sizes, different colors and different varieties are going to be what can make your arrangement pop! Especially if you have a softer tablescape. It’s so fun to brainstorm…kind of like you can do with jewelry, stacking and layering. The key to this is variety and having fun! P.s. If you have a Trader Joes near you, that is the best place to buy a ton of florals to mix and match! Recently we've loved their mums!

Trick #4: Additional plants: 

Adding little pieces from your yard or garden can add such a personal touch. We have clipped a ton of greenery from our side yard and little flowers.
